Into the Unknown

A 4-Week Online Poetry Workshop

Tuesdays, March 3 - 24, 6-9 PM

Among the most memorable and salient pieces of advice from author Toni Morrison’s documentary, The Pieces I Am, was, “People say to write about what you know. I’m here to tell you, no one wants to read that, ’cause you don’t know anything. So, write about something you don’t know.” In this 4-week generative writing workshop, we will do just that. Each week, we will deploy strategies and techniques that move us away from our comfortable writing patterns and tendencies and closer to greater surprise and discovery. Participants may read work from John Murillo, Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah, Diane Seuss, David Baker, and Charles Wright, among others.
