A 10-Week In-Person Fiction Workshop
Tuesdays, March 3 - May 19*, 6 - 9 PM
Every object has a story. In literature, we refer to these devices as “artifacts.” They’ve been the inspiration for The Amulet by McDowell, The Yellow Wallpaper by Gillman, and The Velveteen Rabbit by Williams, among many others. Objects lost may become objects found, manifesting an importance beyond their intrinsic value. They can create questions, and the imagined answers may lead to an intriguing tale.
With found objects as inspiration, participants in this 10-week workshop will create two stories, either stand-alones or parts of larger works. Characters will be developed and situations will evolve. Each story will be discussed by the group in a workshop environment with the intention of moving them toward the possibility of publication.
All levels are welcome. A variety of objects will be provided. Bring your imagination and your laptop. There will be lots of writing.
*No class on March 24 and May 5.
$475 Members/$675 Nonmembers
