If you’d like to enjoy a long weekend of writing, retreat events, and a manuscript consultation at this year’s Black Fly Writers Retreat but skip the workshop, we have you covered. MWPA staff will find an appropriate writer to read your prose or poems and give you feedback before the conference, and then check-in with you regularly over the course of the long weekend on your progress and obstacles. Writers choosing this option will also be able to meet and share meals with all of the other writers attending the retreat, attend faculty readings and optional afternoon sessions, and participate in the open reading, all the while devoting three days to their own work.

SUBMIT 

After registering, participants are asked to submit a manuscript of up to 25 pages of poetry or 5000 words of prose by no later than 9 AM on Fri, April 17. Please email the manuscripts as attachments to director@mainewriters.org with the subject line: “MSS Review.”  *Word files are preferred, but you may also send a PDF.
