An IN-PERSON Writing Workshop

ALL LEVELS

Join Lewis Robinson, author and creative writing professor, and Sarah Holman, writer and Registered Maine Guide, for an immersive outdoor workshop. We’ll spend the day in Bradbury State Park exploring the trails, forests, and views and allowing the setting to inspire our creative process. Participants will be given writing prompts centered around the natural world and have the opportunity to write in the wild. We will delve into memories that have stayed with us and work to convey the deeper meaning of those moments. Writers will begin the workshop with a blank page and leave with a work-in-progress. At the end of the day, we will share our work and offer each other constructive feedback.

Timeline:

We’ll meet in the park at 9am to discuss goals and objectives for the day and enjoy a light breakfast of fruit, baked goods, and coffee. Morning and afternoon sessions of walking*, observing nature, and writing will follow, with a midday lunch break at the summit of Bradbury Mountain. We will end the day with a group feedback session.

*This program includes 3-4 thirty minute walking sessions on wooded trails. The terrain will be uneven and there will be uphill sections.
