The Kids Lit Book Fair at the Maine Lit Fest is an opportunity for kids and families to celebrate the diversity of children’s, middle grade, and young adult books coming out of Maine and New England.
Family-friendly & Free. Featuring 18+ Children's Authors and Illustrators. Plus Storytime, Illustrator Draw-Offs, Crafts, and BOOKS galore!!
Back Cove Books will sell books. Portland Public Library has books to lend.

10:00 AM to 2:00 PM - Book Fair and Meet and Greets with Authors and Illustrators (Downstairs)
10:30 AM to 12:30 PM – Crafts with Love Lab Studio (Downstairs)
10:45 AM – Draw-off featuring Andres Vera Martinez, Sarah Sax, and Tom Booth (Upstairs - Children’s Library)
11:30 AM – Read aloud with Micah Johnson (Upstairs - Children’s Library)
12:30 AM - Dinosaur Candidate Creation and Voting with Scott Nash (Upstairs - Children’s Library)
The festival will feature special programming throughout the day in the Children's Library on the main level and the library's downstairs meeting rooms. Priority seating in program sessions is for children. In meeting rooms with limited capacity, festival volunteers may ask parents to wait outside the room so that all available seats can be used by kids. If your child needs a parent or adult with them to safely enjoy programming, we will happily accommodate.
