Jigsaw Poetry: A Writing Workshop for Everyone

  • Waterfall Arts 256 High Street Belfast, ME (map)

A 4-Week Poetry Workshop

Saturdays, April 4 - 25, 1-2:30 PM

This unique writing activity invites participants to compose a new piece of writing through the assembly of disparate lines. How it will work: Participants will bring a collection of 10-25 small excerpts of their own work to add to a communal "pot." These excerpts can be single lines, poem fragments, email subject lines, text messages, or any other word pairings. Everyone then draws lines randomly out of the pot and works with those lines to assemble a new piece. They might use the words verbatim or simply as a jump-off inspiration. We'll spend time writing together, exchanging fragments with each other) and share our creations in a202n open reading time.
