Maine Writers & Publishers Alliance is aware that our writers and publishers comprise many income levels, and with that in mind, we've established rates that work for everyone. We encourage you to join at the level that is most comfortable. We now have THREE ways to join!

1) Download the membership application HERE. Complete the form and mail it to the office with your check or credit card information!

2) Telephone the office! We love to chat! We'll process your membership personally!

3) We now are accepting online membership payments, and the easiest way we've found to do this is via PayPal. Just click on the link below! (Please note that you will be re-directed to the PayPal site, and you may be asked to create an account. Many of you are already registered there, so our thinking was that this would provide a level of familiarity and convenience...and safety, too!)

Membership Rates: (Please note, our membership rates have changed in an effort to better reflect the needs of the memberhsip.)

Basic Membership: $35-99 How much can you afford to give? Give what you can, and you will receive a quarterly subscription to Maine in Print (Maine's only literary trade publication), weekly E-News updates (if you want) with community information, trivia, and updated event listing, as well as significant member discounts on ALL MWPA programming.

Contributing Membership: $100-199 In addition to ALL the Basic Membership benefits, you will receive MWPA's assistance in promoting your recently published book (or one-time, major) literary event! MWPA has access to Maine News Direct, a service of the Maine Public Relations Council, and we will send out a press release on your book's behalf to ALL Maine media contacts (more than 100...radio, television, and print). You provide us a digital image and synopsis, we'll do the rest!

Sustaining Membership: $200 and up In addition to the Basic AND Contributing Membership benefits, you will receive a 30 minute feedback session on 10-15 pages of prose (in person or via telephone) or three poems. Feedback sessions will be conducted by MWPA staff or credentialed volunteers. (Credentialed, meaning significant publication history or equivalent education.) This is your chance to ask questions and hear feedback directly on your work.

Patron: $1,000 and up If you are in a position to donate $1,000 or more, you will receive ALL of the above, plus an invitation to attend the Fall Writing Retreat weekend, gratis, OR an invitation (for you and a guest) to attend the annual Literary Garden Party as co-hosts...again, gratis. (The Fall Writing Retreat is an estimated $400 value, and Garden Party Co-hosting is a $350-500 value with your name appearing on the invitation.) As you think about renewing your membership, we encourage you to look closely at the new pricing structures and incentives, and then to consider the progress that MWPA has made in recent years. My hope is that you will see the value of this organization, Maine's only statewide literary arts organization, and support us at a level that you deem appropriate. (In many cases, donations to MWPA are 100% tax-deductible.)
